Kredio app
Kredio's site refers to checking payment amounts "on the website or app", but we did not find a link to a Google Play or App Store listing on the official site, and a web search did not confirm a separate Kredio app. If you see an app that claims to be Kredio, check that it is linked from kredio.co.za before entering any personal details.
You do not need an app to borrow. The whole process works in a mobile browser: choose the amount, create your account, upload your bank statement, sign online and repay through your account. The site is designed for use from a phone as well as a computer.
Never share your ID number, banking details or one-time PINs with anyone outside the official application flow. The Fraud centre page on the site gives guidance on spotting fake messages.

A valid South African ID, a bank statement not older than 3 months, proof of steady income, an active South African phone number and a bank account for the payout. You must be 18 or older.
